St Johns Wort is considered to be a long acting herb which takes several weeks for the effects to become apparent. St Johns Wort has been studied to interact with some mental health medications, thus should not be taken with mental health medications unless under the direction of a healthcare provider. Do not take St Johns Wort with anti-rejection medications, St Johns Wort may reduce the effects of birth control medications. St Johns Wort has many interactions with conventional medicine and a review of your medication should be done with a healthcare provider or myself, prior to its use.
